Music Venue Trust (MVT), which represents hundreds of grassroots music venues, has announced more artists for this summer’s National Lottery Revive Live Tour with Rae Morris, Callum Beattie, Nimmo, The Twang, CVC, Clt Drp, The XCERTS, Declan Welsh & The Decadent West, Sick Joy and Low Girl joining the lineup. Concorde 2, in Brighton, will host a special show by Charli XCX, in Brighton on August 31st.

Speaking about performing as part of the tour, which supports the recovering of the grassroots music community, Charli XCX said “I love playing in Brighton and I’m so happy to be going there to support Concorde 2 and bring energy and fun back into the space.”

Tickets for these new shows will go on sale on Thursday July 7th at 10am from Ticketweb.

Paolo Nutini, Sleaford Mods, The Amazons and The Coral will also perform special shows to highlight the importance of grassroots music venues, alongside an extensive programme of tours from diverse artists including Jamie Webster, Everything Everything, Enola Gay, Superlove and the Twang.

The summer return of The National Lottery’s Revive Live Tour will take place in grassroots music venues across the UK between June and September, with The National Lottery directly underwriting the touring and production costs.

More than 20,000 tickets – or around half the capacity of these shows – will be gifted to National Lottery players, giving music fans the opportunity to enjoy great music in their local venue at an affordable price. Every National Lottery ticket-holder who buys a ticket will be invited to bring a friend for free – all they need to do to qualify for this offer is to show a National Lottery ticket or Scratchcard purchased in-store or online/via the National Lottery app when they attend the gig.

Speaking about the importance of the tour Jason Williamson of Sleaford Mods said “Independent venues were the only places we played for the first two years of Sleaford Mods. They hold the histories and stories of all the great bands that have passed through so playing at these places isn’t just about your gig, it’s also about experiencing the venue and its particular piece of history. Andrew and I met at The Chameleon and played our first gig, and many more after, at The Chameleon. Without it we wouldn’t be where we are now. It encouraged us to never give up and never lied to us. It’s a realism we can’t lose.”
