Nashville singer/songwriter Dreamer Boy shares his second full-length album All The Ways We Are Together. The record is a hazy, sentimental collection of songs about love and meaningful relationships, and its release date, Earth Day, was carefully chosen. Per Zach Taylor—the artist, who grew up everywhere from Washington to Texas to Alabama, behind the Dreamer Boy name—the set is meant to reflect on the ways we relate to one another, but also the effects we have on the world. “The songs are about the love we have for ourselves, the love we have for our friends, and the love we can show the environment around us,” Taylor explains.

Like love itself, what that means in practice takes many forms. Dreamer Boy has long been a malleable project, darting between whatever genres and sounds Taylor and his friends are fascinated by. But All The Ways We Are Together is ecstatically eclectic. There’s the lysergic R&B of the Melanie Faye collaboration “Let’s Hold Hands.” There’s funk-inflected sophistipop, heard on the glowing, empathetic “Easier Said Than Done.” There’s also plaintive dream-folk, meditative slide guitar ambiance, and a handful of no-qualifiers pop songs. The best moments are when all these vibrant sounds meld together in a delirious swirl of joy and lightness.

As part of the release, Taylor has made an Instagram page to encourage fans to take action with him on Earth Day, and he’s partnered with the local organization Root Nashville which aims to maintain and preserve the urban tree canopy in the city’s historically neglected neighborhoods. Additionally, Taylor is launching an initiative that will turn fans’ streams into planted trees via a partnership with One Tree Planted.

All The Ways We Are Together follows a busy string of sunny singles released over the last year, including “Know You,” “Crybaby,” and “Don’t Be a Fool,” each of which appears on the record. These new tracks, as well as as a string of late 2019 tour dates with Clairo, were warmly received by critics and fans alike, garnering praise from outlets like FADER (2021 artist to watch), Flaunt, and Clash, the latter of which said “Easier Said Than Done” pushed pop to “a sophisticated new realm.” Taylor was also recently featured in DORK Magazine who wrote that All The Ways We Are Together “embraces love in its most natural, authentic form.” Additionally, Taylor recently became one of the new faces of Tommy Jeans for Men.
