After the release of their acclaimed self-titled debut album last year, indie-pop supergroup Everyone Says Hi are back with their first single of the new year, ‘Just Like That’. The track is taken from their sophomore album, which comes later this year. Listen to ‘Just Like That’ HERE
An infectious dose of psyche-indie, ‘Just Like That’ is a hazy, groove driven banger. Rich in texture, with a splash of funk and topped off by frontman Nick Hodgson’s dreamlike vocals, the track came off the back of a documentary Nick had watched on HBO. Immersing himself in Steely Dan, Michael McDonald, The Doobie Brothers and 10CC for weeks after the doc, Nick took to his home studio with the band and the outcome was an earworm that’ll live between your ears for months to come.
“We tried to dig into that romantic, dreamy atmosphere that is the mood with this kind of music,” Nick says of the single. “The thread that flows through the lyrics is new life, the fragility of life and the wisdom you’re supposed to gather as you get older. The lyrics in the chorus, “I can make my mind up, I don’t need to hold a sign up” is about believing in your own opinion and not having to check it in against what’s going on on social media.”
After debut support shows with the likes of Neil Young, The Cribs, Feeder and more, as well as two standout headline shows in London and Leeds to top off 2025, Everyone Says Hi is slowly building a dedicated live following from their captivating live shows. Keep an eye for more shows in the near future.
With a debut album and a stream of live support shows under their belts already, 2025 saw Everyone Says Hi make their mark as one of the most exciting bands coming out of the UK. Now into 2026, with their sophomore album in the works, big live plans and a sack full of hooked filled bangers, the five-piece are ready to cement themselves as an alt-rock favourite for the masses.
