Gaye Bykers On Acid. The original line up is back in full attack and will be performing a selection of old favourites, including the indie chart smashing ‘Everythang’s Groovy’ and ‘Nosedive Karma’ to their Virgin records era.

They will also be playing new tracks from the ‘Sodium Sun/Back On Track EP’ their first new recorded work for over 30 years. The set will be augmented by their own brand of sci-fi inspired psychedelic visual tomfoolery. Could it be their last ever appearance together live? Who knows? Whatever happens it will be a once in a lifetime experience not to be missed.

Founded in Leicester in 1986 the band found infamy as a part of the Grebo movement with a sound mixing hip hop, punk, psychedelia & electronics. Signing to Intape records they released ‘Everythang’s Groovy’ and ‘Nosedive Karma’ which both shot straight to the top of the independent singles charts. With this initial success and media hysteria they signed to Virgin records with whom they made a feature length movie and recorded two long players, Drill Your Own Hole and Stewed to the Gills. The Bykers’ celebrated live show was an audio visual onslaught and as their reputation grew they were asked to support the Ramones, Motörhead and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Touring in both Europe and the USA they continued to play and experiment musically releasing three albums on their own Naked Brain label before collapsing with mental and physical exhaustion and calling it a day in 1990.

Since then, they have been quietly residing in the “where are they now” files of rock history. Each member scattered to various corners of earth pursuing their individual musical endeavours. Singer Mary with Apollo 440, Pigface and more recently PWEI. Guitar wrangling genius Tony with his collaboration with drummer Kev as ‘Steroid’ as well as releasing his own self titled long-playing oddities and Bassist Robber getting down and dirty with Surfing Bernard, Swamp Delta and Ubertroll.

Flashback to late 2016 when due to popular demand the original line up reformed to celebrate their 30th anniversary with the ‘Electric Banana Tour’ of the UK which concluded a show at Indie Daze at O2 Forum Kentish Town in London. With the spark re-ignited the desire was there to do it all again and so, we are delighted to bring you… GBOA ‘2020 Vision’ Tour – May 2020.
