LA-based pop trailblazer Grace Gaustad has shared her new single and music video for ‘GAGA.’ The enigmatic electro-pop single is the first major track to kick off her upcoming multi-media concept album PILLBX: whts ur fantasy?, which will have new singles and videos releasing throughout the summer and into fall. Stream the single here and video here.

Celebrating one of her biggest musical inspirations, the music video features RuPaul’s Drag Race alumni (Jackie Cox, Olivia Lux, Farrah Moan and Blair St. Claire) as versions of Lady Gaga’s most iconic looks, while Gaustad contemplates what her life would be like if she could wake up from her normal life and transform into a global pop icon like Lady Gaga.

What do you do when you can’t change the unchangeable? For Gaustad, she fantasises in the first line of the chorus in her new album’s title track ‘PILLBX’ ‘if you could take a pill and make it go away…what would you change?’ For her, it’s the fantasy of changing a dehumanising world that disparages those who are different, to one of unconditional love and acceptance. The album exposes the collective mental anguish young adults feel today – and is a fantastical exploration of the multiple different realities our lives could take if history had been different. “I refuse to conform to societal standards and expectations, so within the walls of my bedroom and studio, I created my own world, my own reality, and my own rules. I invite anyone who has ever felt different for any reason into the magical world known as PILLBX” – Grace Gaustad

Following up her debut album BLKBX: wht r u hding?, PILLBX: whts ur fantasy? is a 13 track linear continuation of Gaustad’s journey through young adulthood. It features a curated list of floor banging dance tracks, pop anthems destined to be classics, and hauntingly devastating ballads that are sure to be timeless favorites. The album reunites Grace with artistic visual collaborator and award-winning director Van Alpert and Emmy winner Mariska Hargitay to bring PILLBX to life. Together, they will introduce Grace’s fantasies with episodic music videos that offer a cohesive visual journey of PILLBX, which will culminate in an epic cinematic film at the end of the project.
