When Harriet released her recent second album ‘The Outcome’ represented a strong step forward, as it achieved a trio of strong chart positions as well as a new wave of critical acclaim. Now the singer-songwriter puts ‘The Outcome’ back in the spotlight by sharing her next single ‘Heartbreak Holiday’. It comes as Harriet prepares to play the final show of ‘The Outcome’ tour at London’s Arts Theatre on October 16th.

‘Heartbreak Holiday’ is the kind of gloriously larger-than-life pop anthem that’s so immediate and full of sass it’s only a matter of time before it’s on the soundtrack of the next romcom phenomenon. Harriet holds nothing back as ‘Heartbreak Holiday’ captures the liberation and empowerment of forgetting your romantic woes and instead stepping confidently back into the world. While the song sounds familiar, it’s distinctive in the way that Harriet conjures genres that might not often be mixed together: sashaying pop-country attitude and infectiousness, a touch of glam-rock stomp, and the kind of sweet, swirling, yearning vocal harmonies made famous by the great girl groups of the ‘60s.

Harriet says, “‘Heartbreak Holiday’ is the eureka moment when you finally realise that there is life outside of your comfort zone. You’re ready to break your own rules and to hell with the consequences!”

‘Heartbreak Holiday’ is an enticing introduction into ‘The Outcome’. It’s a sublimely singalong, sweetly melodic, long-in-the-making second album that Harriet wrote and recorded over the course of several trips to Sweden, with a clutch of top-drawer musical collaborators who have previously worked with the likes of Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys, Celine Dion, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Kylie Minogue. It flows so naturally between moods and genres, at times echoing Karen Carpenter, Caroline King, Abba and Coldplay, but is united by Harriet’s positive songwriting style and instantly appealing voice.

Her show at London’s Art Theatre continues ‘The Outcome’ tour, which saw her tour across the UK throughout June. Limited tickets remain available HERE.
