Honeycub are a three-piece rock band from Leeds, UK. Ollie Wilson (lead vocals and guitars), Eddie Dawson (bass), and Charlie Lord (drums) met at school at 15, and escaped their boredom through terrorizing parents with Nirvana, Foo Fighters and Jimmy Eat World covers.

They eventually moved out of the bedroom, gigging around Leeds – including at the famous Cockpit – and receiving multiple radio plays with BBC Introducing and other online radio stations. The band also amassed 50,000 youtube views with a series of acoustic covers.

Honeycub was created after the band members finished university and marks a move to darker, grungier, more riff-driven songs, exemplified by “smashing” ( Alan Raw – https://bit.ly/2UeybWo ) DIY debut You Are Nothing.

The band are now set to release a string of new singles mixed by producer Alex Loring who has worked with bands including Fangclub, Big Spring and Tropic Gold. The singles are set for release before the end of the year starting with the release of ‘Waking Up’ on Friday the 13th of September with supporting music video.

The latest singles are heavily influenced by 90’s grunge (Nirvana, Pixies) as well as early Radiohead. They all carry a consistent theme of angst and isolation in a super connected, social media dominated world experienced by songwriter Ollie Wilson in his years away from Leeds.

Along with the releases, the band have a number of hometown shows in Leeds in the coming months including a headline set at ‘The Backroom’, a support slot with Irish Grunge band Fangclub at ‘Hyde Park Book Club’ and a support slot at the 360 Club. Honeycub are already working on the next lot of singles due for release in the new year and are excited to start branching out from Leeds.
