James Blunt releases his inspiring new Radio 2 ‘Track of the Week’ single and moving video for ‘The Greatest’. The track is taken from James’ hugely successful UK Top 3 album ‘Once Upon A Mind’, and UK profits from the single in 2020 will be donated to the NHS, to support the healthcare workers in the front lines of the battle against COVID-19.  It has also been announced that James’ highly anticipated Royal Albert Hall show has been rescheduled to 23rd September, which was postponed due to the pandemic.

A piano lead ballad, ‘The Greatest’ is a heartfelt song with a universally positive message, featuring James’ poignant vocals and a moving string section. The Jacob Wise directed video stars “the young, the brave (and) the powerful” people James sings about, as they selflessly assist in the fight against COVID-19. “I originally wrote ’The Greatest’ for my children as a message of hope for their future, amidst the mad world that we live in,” James commented. “But in the last few weeks the song for me has taken on new meaning, as I watch NHS workers, first responders and healthcare professionals worldwide battling the coronavirus.  These people are our true heroes — they are the greatest, and we all must show them the gratitude that they truly deserve.”

James Blunt plays the following UK dates.

After flirting with electronica on his last album, James Blunt returned to what he does best on his new album ‘Once Upon A Mind’, writing classic songs that touch both the heart and the head. Highlights are many and include the breezy first single ‘Cold’, the heartbreaking ballad ‘Monsters’, the pop swagger of ‘5 Miles’ and the country tinged ‘Halfway.’ There’s a warmth that permeates the entire album, and a real sense of personality.

James Blunt released his first album, ‘Back To Bedlam’ in the autumn of 2004 and soon after the single ‘You’re Beautiful’ became a global smash hit. He has sold over 23 million albums and has showcased his wit and charm more recently with his always engaging twitter account.
