We’ve Heard A Rumour… and it’s true! The most successful British female band of the 1980s Bananarama will bring their Too Hot To Handle Greatest Hits Summer Tour to the Yorkshire as part of a run of headline dates across the UK.

The iconic duo group will headline Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Saturday July 17 and they’ll be joined on the night by special guests Jason Donovan and Altered Images for an unforgettable night of iconic Eighties favourites and pop classics.

They will then head to The Piece Hall, Halifax, on Sunday July 18 to perform a headline show with special guests Tony Hadley and Altered Images.

This summer, Bananarama celebrated 40 years since the release of their landmark studio album True Confessions, with a special anniversary edition reaching Number Six in the UK Album Chart.

As holders of the Guinness World Record for the highest number of chart entries by an all-female group, Bananarama have enjoyed a remarkable career spanning more than four decades. Their Too Hot To Handle Greatest Hits Summer Tour promises to be a party to remember.

Joining Bananarama in Scarborough will be Australian pop icon Jason Donovan whose chart-topping music and acclaimed stage career have made him a firm favourite with audiences for decades.

Donovan first captured the hearts of UK audiences as Scott Robinson in the hit TV series Neighbours before becoming one of the biggest pop stars of the late 1980s. His debut album Ten Good Reasons was the best-selling album of 1989, producing a string of hits including Too Many Broken Hearts, Especially For You with Kylie Minogue, When You Come Back to Me and Sealed With A Kiss. Since then, he has enjoyed a hugely successful career across music, television and theatre, starring in acclaimed productions including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Rocky Horror Show, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Grease and most recently High School Musical.

Joining Bananarama in Halifax is 80s icon and one of Britain’s most acclaimed vocalists, Tony Hadley, whose unmistakable voice helped define the soundtrack of a generation.
