Rising talent Jazmine Flowers imagines that her music is what you would hear in the “R&B lounge of some dystopian club in 3045,” but that forward-thinking approach is already making waves in 2023. Early tracks such as ‘awkward’ and ‘detached’have inspired comparisons to the likes of FKA twigs, Jhené Aiko, Kehlani and Banks, while her ascent has been boosted by airplay at Radio 1 and 1Xtra as well as shows with Becky Hill and Dylan. Now she shares her new single ‘i’m DONE’ as the first release under a new deal with BE83 / Sony (Jaykae, Dapz On The Map). Listen HERE.

Both instantly accessible and full of creative production flourishes which gives her dark pop / alternative R&B hybrid an engaging edge, ‘i’m DONE’ is a high impact statement from Jazmine. While it was inspired by a moment of vulnerability – feeling child-like after moving back home with her mum during lockdown – it’s a song full of swaggering self-confidence as Jazmine affirms her independence with a voice that balances velveteen beauty with a precisely enunciated rhythmic quality.

Jazmine says, “‘i’m DONE’ is, without question, my favourite song I’ve made to date. Although it sounds pretty dark it has a funny element to it and a beautiful vulnerability too. I expect a lot of young people will have had similar experiences. I hope they can relate and know that it’s a very universal feeling! No hate to my Mum though, I love her to pieces and I’m sure I annoy her just as much, if not more!”

Jazmine wrote ‘i’m DONE’ with the hitmaker Sacha Skarbek (Miley Cyrus, Adele, Lana Del Rey), and it was produced by Nabes.

Born in Brixton and raised in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, Jazmine was initially raised in a bohemian environment by her single mother, a photographer and musician, before her stepfather joined the family. The music she grew up around was linked by stellar songwriting and production, but those artists – Bob Marley, Aswad, Scissor Sisters, Michael Jackson and Empire of the Sun – wouldn’t be obvious influences upon the music that she now makes.
