K.A.D and Kak Hatt’s ‘Just How You Like It’ has become one of the UK’s biggest cultural phenomenon of the year. The evidence is undeniable: 2.3 billion views across 350,000+ video creations at TikTok, 21 million track streams, and a Top 40 position on the Official Singles Chart. Meanwhile, famous names from all walks of life have jumped on the trend including (deep breath) ArrDee, Michael Dapaah, The Sidemen, Phil Foden, Maisie Smith, Molly Marsh, Tyson Fury, Logan Paul, Munya Chawawa, JLS, Jeremy Vine, Tion Wayne and ‘The Voice’ judges – to name but a few. Now ‘Just How You Like It’ is set to make another big impact before the year is out as K.A.D and Kak Hatt now share the new ‘Christmas Charva Edition’ of the track. Given a festive flavour with jingle bells and choirboy vocal effects, the ‘Christmas Charva Edition’ takes the ‘Just How You Like It’ fun into the Christmas party season. Fans have been clamouring for a Christmas version of the track after Chris Watson posted a ‘Just How You Like It’ x ‘Last Christmas’ mash-up which kickstarted over 13,000 video creations, and this lives up to that immense demand.
K.A.D originally released ‘Just How You Like’ back in 2021, but it remained largely undiscovered the self-described “Chocolate Charva” Kay the jeweller popularised the track. Its pure fun factor has inspired every type of content imaginable at TikTok, with dance crazes, comedy lip-syncs and larger-than-life facial expressions all snowballing into a massive trend. Huge social and streaming stats (#2 on TikTok’s UK Hot 50, #3 on Spotify UK’s Viral 50) soon followed, while the track’s impact was further amplified with playlists at KISS and KISS Dance plus a host of plays at Radio 1.
The track’s momentum has been supported with two remixes: an all-star ‘Charva’ remix featuring J Fado, Charlie Choppa, Tyrone and The Charva Boys (Kstar, Whydee, Tizzy, Blaize aka The Charvas), and another from rising drum & bass star Disrupta.
