Lighthouse Family announce new album release date

LIGHTHOUSE FAMILY have announced that their fourth studio album ‘Blue Sky In Your Head’, their first in 18 years, will now be released on 10th May

Their stirring new single ‘My Salvation’ heralds the return of Lighthouse Family, one of the most successful bands of the late 90s and early 00s, after an 18-year recording hiatus. Added this week to the Radio 2 playlist, ‘My Salvation’ is an uplifting track that flies high on lush strings and is every bit as good as you’d expect from the duo that produced the timeless hits ‘Lifted’, ‘High’, and ‘Ocean Drive’.

‘My Salvation’ is taken from Lighthouse Family’s fourth album, ‘Blue Sky In Your Head’, which will be released May 10 on Polydor Records and will include ‘Essentials’, all the bands classic songs remastered for the very first time to celebrate their 25-year recording history. Last Saturday, Lighthouse Family – Tunde Baiyewu and Paul Tucker – joined Graham Norton on his Radio 2 show last to talk about their return. Listen again here

The duo will follow the album’s release with a UK tour later this year, culminating in a sold-out show at the iconic London Palladium on November 22nd. The Newcastle and Bournemouth shows are also already sold-out.

‘Blue Sky In Your Head’ sees Lighthouse Family back on their original label Polydor and reunited with Colin Barlow, the A&R that discovered them, and their first manager, Keith Armstrong; the same team that was around them when they were at their FM Radio-dominating peak.  Time has not dulled Lighthouse Family’s remarkable ability to craft elegantly beautiful songs, and the new album has something that has always been present with Lighthouse Family: a sense of optimism and renewal, something sorely needed in these turbulent times.
