Following the release of his debut EP My Blue Room earlier this year, rising Darlington artist Luke Royalty returns with his melancholic new single ‘no1cares’. The track marks the next phase from one of the UK’s most exciting artists.

Produced by Julien Flew at his studio in Hackney Wick, ‘no1cares’ is Luke at his finest; laid back, hypnotising and complete with a chorus that’ll be stuck in your head for weeks. “‘no1cares’ is about learning to stop overthinking and discovering that ‘no one cares’ about your insecurities as much as you do,” Luke said about the track. Listen to ‘no1cares’ HERE.

Directed by Manta, the video for ‘no1cares’ was shot in Tynemouth. “I gave complete creative control to Manta for this video. He interpreted the song in a way which I hadn’t thought of,” Luke said of the video. “We’d hoped for a sunny day but typically it rained for the entirety of the filming, which in the end turned out for the better as it complimented the end of summer feel to the song.” Watch the video HERE.

Hailing from Darlington in the North East of England, Luke came from a creative family of artists and musicians. He, however, avoided dabbling in music until his late teens, preferring to spend his time playing Sunday League football and following his beloved Darlington FC. Upon finding influence in the likes of Mac Miller, Amy Winehouse and Bill Withers, Luke got drawn into the culture of turning his words to music and the rest is history in the making.

Following a blistering stretch across the UK with Jake Bugg, including a sold-out show at London’s Kentish Forum earlier this year, as well as selling out his first headline dates in his hometown of Darlington and Leeds, Luke plays a couple more unmissable shows before the turn of the year. Catch him at Waves Festival in Sunderland on 5th November and at Soul Kitchen’s Kristmas gig at World Headquarters in Newcastle on December 1st.

Poised for greatness and having already garnered support from key players including BBC Radio 1 (Jack Saunders’ ‘Future Artists Next Wave Pick’), BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing, NME, Clash Magazine, Far Out Magazine, Notion, The Line Of Best Fit, The Independent and Amazing Radio, Luke Royalty is without doubt one of the artists everyone should be watching.
