Maggie Rogers’ classic “Say It” gets a very magical tribute by Norway’s girl in red in Spotify’s Oyster Studio. This version offers a youthful exuberance that listeners of girl in red will be familiar with, that marries well to Rogers’ already gut-wrenching yet sleek love song.

The song helped rationalise a moment in girl in red’s life where her own thoughts were playing catch-up with her feelings explaining “When the words finally came to me I felt incredibly grateful.”

Today’s collaboration with Spotify follows girl in red’s first two EP releases, Chapter 1 & Chapter 2, that were both written, recorded and produced in her bedroom in Norway.  This track sees her use Spotify’s set-up to create something different yet oh-so-familiar.  She explains  “I’m stoked to be a part of the new studio concept and to have gotten the opportunity to record the track in Spotify’s studio. The possibilities to be creative in there is something I really took advantage of and it turned the song into what it is today.”

Studio Oyster invites Nordic artists to record and release music without any rules or restrictions. We’re very proud that girl in red is the first in line to release a track as part of Studio Oyster
