Today’s release is a collection of tracks that capture snapshots of feelings from Mai Kino’s personal life, ranging from modern disconnection to the joy of new life. The title track speaks of the everyday struggle that is the pursuit of happiness, something many can relate to.

Speaking more on the EP Mai Kino shares: Dopamine is about complicated internal states and wanting to escape them.  “Like an angel you take me so warm and so serene” can mean death, a drug or a lover, but it also speaks of spiritual transcendence.”

Born and raised in Lisbon, Portugal, Mai Kino grew up with dreams of performing in the capital’s most grand venues. She moved to London with a background in multimedia art and dance, Mai Kino’s music is not her only creative outlet – she crafts multisensory visual offerings to accompany her impressive soundscapes. Already receiving a wealth of press in the run up to her debut EP, including acclaim from the likes of Wonderland, Dummy, Refinery29 and Clash, the future for Mai Kino looks bright.
