Mei River releases his debut single ‘Her’ via Columbia/Sony Music Germany. Listen to ‘Her’ here: https://MeiRiver.lnk.to/Her.

‘Her’ opens with a single melancholic ukulele strum intertwined with Frederik Eriksson aka Mei River’s raw, fragile voice. Acoustic guitar and an upbeat bassline build into a vibrant melody – a juxtaposition to its lyrics, which reflect on themes of loss and longing.

An accompanying video for ‘Her’ is also released, shot in Mei River’s hometown of Stockholm. The atmospheric visual features an array of striking imagery alongside Eriksson himself.

‘Her’ is the first single from Mei River and is taken from his debut EP ‘Tall Trees That Never Fell’ out this May via Columbia/Sony Music Germany. This is the first solo project from Eriksson, who previously produced for a number of artists and bands across Scandinavia, before deciding to create his own self-deemed ‘semi-sweet nostalgic’ sound. For the first time, Eriksson decided to use his own voice as an instrument to communicate his message – his lyrics explore relatable themes of feeling lost, alone and unsure about navigating the complex waters of early adulthood. Although lyrically Eriksson isn’t afraid to delve into heavy themes, Mei River’s sound remains uniquely euphoric, with incorporated elements of funk and exotica, ensuring the hotly-tipped artist is sure to set himself apart from his contemporaries.
