MILLIE MANDERS AND THE SHUTUP have released their new single Age Disgracefully ahead of their headline October and November UK tour. The single is a furious blast, to paraphrase one notable critic, of prime Millie goodness, riddled with rage and catchy as hell.
“Ageing, especially in front of the media or an audience, and even more so as a woman, is still largely seen as something we should all disapprove of,” says Millie about Age Disgracefully. “I have spent most of my life tearing myself apart in front of the mirror so I wrote these lyrics in part to try and shake myself, in part to inspire others to be kinder to themselves, and as a whole heap of f**k you to the amount of anti-ageing adverts I am bombarded with on a daily basis.”
The forthcoming tour will see the band consciously playing more intimate venues than they have recently been used to, with support coming via four of the UK’s most impassioned and exciting emerging bands – The Empty Page from Manchester; Bugeye from London; TOAST from Cheltenham; and Tokyo Taboo from London.
