Manchester-based NXTGEN have released their newest single I Don’t Know How To Dance, (listen here) produced by their Grammy Award-winning mentor and Black Eyed Peas front man will.i.am. I Don’t Know How To Dance follows last month’s release Rewind, also produced by will, and released via iamMedia/eOne.

The band have said of the track, “When we were on The Voice the choreographers made a routine for our semi-final performance. Well, we cannot dance to save our lives and we proved that in rehearsals every time. So, when we were in the studio with will, we thought a funny idea would be to write a song about not being able to dance – but have it over a dance type production! Oh, the irony!”

The bright and vibrant visual featuring bouncy neon graphics, finds the trio in a warehouse and on a rooftop. They are surrounded by a plethora of beautiful dancers, teaching them the best classic and latest international dance crazes from the Cha Cha, Salsa and Moonwalk to the Gwara Gwara, Dab, Milly Rock, Shoot, and more (view here).

NXTGEN are comprised of Cian GleesonJoel Healey and Sonny Hardman. The three were previously members of bubbling quintet Yes Lad, and following multiple releases, they decided to reform and continue as NXTGEN. After The Voice UK allowed groups to compete in 2019, the trio entered the competition and impressed both coaches and the audience with their vocal abilities and impressive, slick harmonies.

Since the competition, NXTGEN have worked with and have impressed some of the biggest names in the industry, including will.i.am, the executive producer of Rewind and I Don’t Know How To Dance. will is also featured on the group’s debut single Embrace, which was released earlier this year, and performed on The Voice UK semi-finals. Additionally, the Grammy-winner has taken the band under his wing and label iamMedia, where they continue to build a steadily growing and strong fanbase of over 150K followers across socials, and explore the uncharted territory of Afrobeats-inspired Pop.
