Hotly tipped Nottingham four-piece BLONDES have released their highly anticipated debut OUT THE NEIGHBOURHOOD EP. Having amassed over 15m streams with last year’s debut single Coming of Age, which became a viral sensation after featuring on TikTok; playing the Festival Republic stage at this year’s Reading and Leeds Festival; and touring with Irish chart toppers Inhaler, BLONDES have paved their way to become one of the most exciting breakthrough acts of 2021. OUT THE NEIGHBOURHOOD showcases the band’s upbeat singles that have captivated the live circuit whilst also demonstrating an exploration of their experiences across previously unreleased tracks led by Will Potter’s echoing vocals and their hazy, fuzzy guitars.

Produced and mixed by Rich Turvey (Blossoms, The Courteeners, Oscar Lang, Vistas) Phil Booth, Tom Roach and Tim Speed at Coastal Sound Recording Studio, with mastering by Robin Schmitt, the EP addresses the endless possibilities that come with being young. To celebrate the release of the EP, BLONDES have also revealed the video for recent single and EP title track Out the Neighbourhood. Directed by James Slater (Sam Fender, Blossoms, Inhaler, The Lathums) the video is released alongside the EP. The band are also set to appear on an episode of Apple Music ALT CTRL Radio with Hanuman Welch on Tuesday 16 November.

About the EP, BLONDES say:

“Since Coming of Age took off it has opened many doors for us and exposed us to thousands of new listeners, and since then we’ve been driven to deliver new music that we hope will live up to people’s expectations. We’ve been lucky to work with the fantastic Rich Turvey who has helped shape our ideas into something we’re proud of. We’ve played some incredible shows since the lockdown was lifted, opening for Stereophonics in front of thousands of people, supporting Inhaler in a packed out first London show, and appearing on the Festival Republic Stage at Reading and Leeds. We’ve got more shows lined up, including our first headline appearance in London which should be a really special night.

We’ve been working on this EP for almost a year now with C3 Records. It’s been great fun and has helped us grow as songwriters and musicians. Our team have supported us every step of the way and we’re very excited to finally be able to share these songs with everyone. We wanted to continue to revel in that ecstasy of freedom and possibility that Coming of Age encapsulated so well. Out the Neighbourhood is our expression of what it means to be young; a small reminder of the possibilities that exist if you have the confidence to take a step into the unknown and a realisation of the potential that we all have.

With the release of the EP, we want to continue to build on the start we have made this year, and we’re looking ahead to more new music in 2022 and more shows. We’ve already started writing and recording new material, and we’re very excited for what the future holds. We hope everyone loves Out the Neighbourhood and thanks to everyone that helped us make it.”
