Double platinum and BRIT-winning artist Paloma Faith today unveils a brand new version of her hit single ‘Only Love Can Hurt Like This, featuring vocal powerhouse Teddy Swims. The remake is available to stream now via Sony Music on the 23rd September.
Originally released in 2014, ‘Only Love Can Hurt Like This’ is Paloma’s highest charting solo single to date, going in at #6 in the UK Singles Charts, and number 1 on the Australian charts. The single has recently enjoyed additional success on TikTok, consequently reaching a whole new audience. Amassing 30+ million streams, the track caught the attention of Teddy Swims, aka Atlanta native Jaten Dimsdale, who has now recorded a verse for the new version.
Commenting on the remake Paloma Faith says “I’m such a fan of teddy swims so singing one of my favourite songs I’ve ever recorded with him was an honour and a privilege. I’m so happy to release this reimagining of the Diane Warren classic into the world !!!!”
Teddy Swims added “I’ve always loved this song and Paloma! I’m so honored to be a part of this amazing song written by one of the most incredible writers of all time, Diane Warren! I can’t express enough gratitude for being given the chance to bring myself and add to an already perfect song!
It’s been a stellar year for Paloma that’s seen the singer trending on TikTok for the #DeadlyKissChallenge, which featured ‘Only Love Can Hurt Like This’, along with her The Age of Optimism summer tour and a headline slot at Brighton Pride.
Teddy Swims started off by posting YouTube covers from his bedroom studio in 2019, fast becoming an internet sensation with hundreds of millions of views. He has since released two EP’s of original music, amassed 600 million global streams and sold out his first ever world tour.
