British alt-pop superstar RØRY is back with the release of her emotive new single the apology i’ll never receive, out now (stream/download here). The track is also accompanied by the official music video, which can be viewed here.
The deeply personal and confessional track sees RØRY reflecting on the relationship breakdown between herself and her father, and the apology she so desperately seeks. Showcasing her exceptional voice, the heart wrenching lyrics convey the turbulent and painful family relationship. “I have spent years waiting for my father to say sorry. I felt like I couldn’t move on from the pain without some kind of acknowledgement. I have been desperate for it… eventually I decided to write it myself. And that is this song.” RØRY said of the track. She continues, “There are so many people out there who have been shamed, and scapegoated by their own families. I truly hope this can be healing for them to hear.”
The apology i’ll never receive follows on from the previous single, hurt myself, which has picked up a huge amount of support at TikTok, with over 11,000 uses of the song, 1.1 million views of her previewing the filter she made How Do I Hurt Myself? and across all her videos, she has over 300,000 followers and 2.8 million likes on her TikTok.
With more releases planned and exciting news to be announced soon, RØRY is taking the alternative scene by storm. Since performing her first UK headline show in 2022, she has amassed a huge following in a short period and has over twenty million streams on Spotify alone.
