For the first time, the world-renowned Royal Philharmonic Orchestra has recorded the greatest music from everyone’s favourite binge-worthy series’ to present ‘Boxsets & Chill’: the soundtrack to your sofa.
Fans of Tom Wambsgans, Sherlock Stans and GoT Thronies can now enjoy the most iconic themes from the small screen as they embark on their daily walk or afternoon monitor break. Beat the January blues with stunning new orchestrations and binge-listen your way through fifteen separate universes in the time it takes you to ‘Wake Up With Joe’!
The extensive compilation, released digitally on 8th January 2021 on Decca Records, includes orchestral versions of the iconic themes of modern classics including Stranger Things, Peaky Blinders, Narcos and The Crown, plus a special treat for Millennials in the form of nostalgic themes from Dawson’s Creek, Doctor Who and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
With Britons spending 40% of their waking hours watching TV during the first UK lockdown in April 2020, an appetite for big budget serialisations will be high on the public’s agenda in the first months of 2021. A survey conducted by musicMagpie in June 2020 identified the most popular series on global streaming giants, with themes from six of the top twenty featured on this new release.
Recorded at London’s Air Studios, the compilation was conducted, produced, arranged by British musician Andrew Skeet (The Divine Comedy) and features the vocal talents of Marisha Wallace and Nick Shirm.
