Rising star Ruby Roberts today returns with her latest single ‘Crush’, a sharp and emotionally charged snapshot of longing, fixation and the chaotic energy of a night spent chasing someone who may never show. Listen to the track here.
‘Crush’ captures a familiar but rarely articulated experience – arriving somewhere for one person, only to find yourself caught in a game of tug and war between hope and disappointment. From the opening lines “I only came along this evening ‘cause I thought you’d be here”, the track sets a tone of vulnerability that quickly unfolds into urgency.
As the night progresses, Ruby’s anticipation gives way to obsession. ‘Crush’ explores the addictive push-and-pull of attraction, where being let down and feeling alive can become alike: “Every time you let me down, you’re giving me butterflies.”
Blending alt-pop textures with indie electronic elements and diaristic storytelling, the track is the next confident installment from Ruby Roberts, cementing her as one to watch within the alt-pop scene.
The track follows the anthemic ‘I’d Do Anything’ and is the next glimpse into a bold and more daring sonic chapter set to unfold in her forthcoming EP later this year. Following Ruby’s sold-out UK headline tour in early 2026, Ruby is hitting the road again next month for her ‘Make It Out of Here’ tour where fans will get to hear these tracks and new material for the first time – dates and ticket info below.
She has quickly amassed an impressive and fervent fanbase over the course of her debut EP rollout. With over 15m streams to date and a recent sold out headline UK tour, Ruby’s exciting take on alt-pop is setting her apart from her peers. Her exceptional lyricism and song craft is at the heart of everything she does.
With her own upcoming solo UK tour, major festival appearances, as well as supporting Erin LeCount on her UK tour – it’s an exciting time for Ruby Roberts.
