Introducing sandy crow, the brand new musical project from acclaimed British actor and director, Jamie Flatters. Known for his phenomenal performance in Avatar: The Way Of The Water among others, Jamie is a multi-hyphenate creative and after five years of independently crafting his artistry, today he launches his long-awaited musical debut under the alias of sandy crow. His debut double-side single, with A-side ‘LEARNING 037’ and B-side ‘Ur best day’, is out now. Listen HERE.

Discussing the unveiling of his musical alias, Jamie says “sandy crow is an artist from South London currently flirting with pop music in a bastardised fashion. His influences range from music artists past and present, but perhaps most significantly, he’s influenced by the idea that these artists became. Who sandy crow will ultimately become seems premature to determine; nevertheless, a myriad of artistic obsessions will contribute to the mosaic of his image and sound. He is pop music’s trojan horse. What’s packaged as pop music hides something both rotten and refreshing, which will cause any American to crown him as the new general of the British Invasion music scene.”

Debut single ‘LEARNING 037’ fuses indie and pop with a delicious melding of acoustic guitars and dreamlike vocals that build to a stunning crescendo. On the single, Jamie says “sandy crow talks about no longer minding about the worst being said, as long as something is truly felt. Touching on a desperation to reconnect with his childhood friend”. While on ‘Ur best day’ he says sandy crow “talks about being a drunk, riding the tube & imagining how he’s wronged the one he should have loved the most. The song is a solipsistic rant about how his loved ones will be better off without him”.

A true artistic visionary, Jamie has also self-directed and produced the stunning official music video for A-side single ‘LEARNING 037’. The video will be released on YouTube next week, March 13th.

With more music to come through 2024, sandy crow is undoubtedly One To Watch to 2024.
