With her new single rising pop star Sarah Barrios gets meta, she’s falling fast and documenting the whole process with her autobiographical lyrics. You know when you know, but falling in love can still be a confusing rollercoaster of emotions, especially when you spend your days trying to write songs about your feelings.

Love Songs” speeds through obsession, daydreams and sleepless nights until its ultimate realisation that being in love isn’t all that bad.

I kept trying to write love songs that were cool, but it turns out, love isn’t cool,” Sarah admits. “It’s cheesy and happy and confusing and scary all at the same time. Once I realized that, writing love songs, wasn’t so hard anymore.”

When it came to putting together her first tracks to be released,  Sarah says “this song was the missing piece for me.” She adds, “I really wanted something fun and upbeat, a song you could dance to in your room to and one that made you feel like the main character in a movie.”

The follow-up to her impressive debut “I Didn’t Mean To” and last month’s stripped back ballad “Mourn The Living”, “Love Songs” shows that for all that heartbreak there are definitely still some good things before you reach the inevitable messy, tearful end.

Growing up in Torrington, Connecticut, as part of a musical household, Barrios’ journey to becoming an artist shouldn’t be surprising, but like many young music lovers the idea of doing this as a job seems impossible, at first. Turning her talent from songwriting into hits for other artists paid off and now she’s living out her dream, doing it for herself.

Sarah continues to watch her career take off as she tours as a headliner, as well as, opening for some of America’s biggest names in music while sharing her style of music with fans from across the globe!
