We live in a world that moves fast, perhaps too fast with 24-hour rolling news and the constant influence of social media, we need music that is good for the heart and mind to restore our inner calm no matter what our language.  With his new single ‘Ghosts’, Stephan Moccio provides the perfect antidote for a global audience – music that moves you, music that is built on years of experience and dedication to his craft. It is his ability to convey emotion without words that is so inherently special, writing a melody that courses through this emotive and delicately wrought composition.

Speaking of the track, Stephan says, “No one is immune to an imperfect life because perfection does not exist. Embrace grit, embrace getting hurt because it’s the only place where growth can exist. We are haunted, sometimes inspired… and at times paralysed by… Ghosts.”

‘Tales of Solace’ is a provocative album of melodic, tender piano meditations set to soothe the soul, composed, performed and recorded on his prized, custom-made upright piano. With this release, Stephan returns to his roots in classical composition and embraces the instrument he knows best. Throughout his career, you can hear his performances on countless recordings by the world’s biggest artists. He has written and composed songs for global stars: ‘Wrecking Ball’ for Miley Cyrus, ‘A New Day Has Come’ for Celine Dion and ‘Earned It’ for The Weeknd – a track featured on the film Fifty Shades of Grey for which he received an Oscar nomination.

Growing up in Niagara Falls, Canada, Stephan started learning piano at the age of three, and quickly developed a love for classical music. Immediately after university, he moved to Toronto and quickly landed a job as a songwriter and staff producer.

Now recognised for his impeccable mastery of hand-crafted melody, arrangement, harmonic depth and a provocative pianistic touch, Stephan’s classical upbringing combined with his pop song-writing prowess gives him a unique edge. As a contemporary artist, his personal style could grace any of the latest fashion magazines, a modern day romantic, this multi-faceted artist performs his solo piano arrangements with a uniquely raw and sensual vulnerability.

Tales of Solace’ is out on Decca Records on 28th August.
