2x-GRAMMY-nominated artist and producer Steve Aoki announces his 10th studio LP HiROQUEST: Double Helix out November 17, 2023. Featuring collaborations with Paris Hilton, Akon, Ángela Aguilar, Danna Paola, Greeicy, Galantis, JJ Lin, Hayley Kiyoko, Galantis, Timmy Trumpet, and John Martin, the album is an extension of the genre-expanding universe Aoki introduced on 2022’s HiROQUEST: Genesis. Recorded primarily in Las Vegas and Miami, HiROQUEST: Double Helix embraces a sense of nostalgia for the early days of Aoki’s career while also pushing dance music into the future.

Also arriving today is a remake of Akon’s 2003 hit “Locked Up” with French producer duo TRINIX. Aoki and Akon hit the studio to create a modernized version of the club classic, integrating Akon’s freshly cut vocals and Aoki’s signature dance floor-ready electro production. The song is also accompanied by a brand new claymation music video.

Last month Aoki announced his long-awaited return to the UK, for a day party at Ministry Of Sound, Saturday September 16th. Purchase tickets here. His first UK show in four years, It was 2019 when he last touched down for his Neon Future headline tour which included a sold-out Brixton Academy show. The UK show coincides with his ongoing summer residency at Ibiza’s Amnesia which has been a go-to party on the White Isle.

Aoki explains: “HiROQUEST is an entire world I crafted around an enigmatic character named HiRO. Part I was largely driven by my alt-music roots in hardcore punk bands. Now, the story continues on Double Helix, which embraces dance culture while intertwining the pulse of contemporary Latin music.

Working with Akon to reimagine his 2003 hit ‘Locked Up’ was a dream come true—a fusion of styles I adore. This album harmonizes nostalgia and contemporary sounds, placing collaboration at its core.”

HiROQUEST: Double Helix will also feature recently released singles “Invítame A Un Café” with Ángela Aguilar, “Hungry Heart (featuring Hayley Kiyoko)” with Galantis, “Diferente” with CNCO, “The Show” with JJ Lin, “New York (featuring Mazie)” with Regard, “Muñecas” with TINI and La Joaqui (nominated for Univisión’s 2023 Premios Juventud Awards), and “Won’t Forget This Time (featuring John Martin)” with KAAZE.

Steve Aoki debuted many of the new album singles during his recent MainStage headline performance at Tomorrowland 2023, where he was joined by Paris Hilton, Kid Cudi, Lil’ Jon, Danna Paola, and John Martin. HiROQUEST: Double Helix offers catchy songs alongside a deep narrative as Aoki focuses on Latin and dance, genres that harken back to his roots as a producer.
