The Luka State release ‘Stick Around’

The Luka State recently announced details of a UK intimate tour this autumn

Working class band The Luka State, hailing from Winsford, Cheshire are back with a new song, “Stick Around,” in advance of their upcoming North American tour. The single is a welcome return for the band, showcasing their signature blend of angular, anthemic rock and roll, and salt-of-the-earth, in-your-face lyrics and attitude. Speaking on their new single, the band’s Conrad Ellis says, “Our generation is sometimes too quick to give up on things and is always looking for the next best thing.  Like the grass is always greener on the other side. But sometimes it isn’t. This song is about teamwork and being there for each other through the rough and the smooth and basically saying no matter what I’ve got your back.

The Luka State recently announced details of a UK intimate tour this autumn. ‘The More Things Change, The More They Stay The Same’ tour will see The Luka State preview next year’s release of their eagerly anticipated second album with intimate, full intensity shows in Liverpool, London and Glasgow. Before this, their North American tour will be kicking off September 12 in NYC, and will cross the country hitting Detroit, Nashville, Chicago, Austin, and Denver, a four-show California run in October and new dates were recently added in Phoenix, Oklahoma City, Atlanta and Carrboro.

The Luka State have been recording their forthcoming album with producers Dan Austin (Biffy Clyro, You Me At Six, Pixies) and the Grammy Award-winning Adrian Bushby (Foo Fighters, Muse, U2) at Liverpool’s Motor Museum and EVEnear Manchester. As we’ve heard on the recent tracks “Bring Us Down” and “Oxygen Thief,” the record will see The Luka State supercharging their sonic attack with a whirlwind of punk, alt-rock, and indie references points, together with lyrics that take a savage look at social issues, as well as the us-against-them stance of being a rock band ready to take on the world.  It’s a caustic cocktail in the lineage of current UK favourites IDLES, Kid Kapichi, and The Blinders.

The Luka State commented, “Making this record has felt like a rebirth of the band. We feel like we’re able to channel our anxieties, our passions, our anger as well as our love for the life around us into our songs in a far more honest way than the first record.
