THE TRUSTED are set to release their new single ‘Wild Love’ on November 8th, via The Orchard across all digital platforms.

The Trusted are a Southend-on-Sea indie pop rock four-piece made up of brothers Tom Cunningham (Vocals, Guitar) and Finlay Cunningham (Bass, Vocals), drummer Dave Batchelor and guitarist Dale Holt-Mead. The Trusted formed in mid-2016, but their relationship dates back to their early days at secondary school. The initial spark that formed the band was the bond over music that lead singer Tom and guitarist Dale made through their mutual appreciation of creating edgy atmospheric pop with strong melodies. The Trusted focuses on casting a dynamic range of emotions, whether it comes from a happy or sad place, the band want the listeners to feel the raw emotions radiating from their music.

The band has built an incredible reputation with their back catalogue of hits, which includes their first release of 2018 ‘No Real Control’. The single received an overwhelming response from Media Match, Gigslutz, HypeMachine, Little Indie Blogs and Brexhip, plus a wealth of airplay on BBC Introducing, BBC London, Amazing Radio and many more. ‘Cigarettes and Chandeliers’ was the next single that followed, providing another snapshot of where these four young musicians are and where they are going to. After the release of the aforementioned ‘Vicious’ EP at the beginning of 2019, the band had taken some time out this year to write and record new material to keep their fans on their toes.

The latest single ‘Wild Love’ was recorded and produced at SS2 Studios in Southend by Rees Broomfield. ‘Wild Love’ shows another side to the band, showcasing a new height of the bands ability to write soulful and heartfelt lyrics and vocal. Over the soaring and panoramic chorus, ‘Wild Love’ has brought another huge dimension to their live performances and songbook.

‘Wild Love’ explores themes of rejecting the harsh realities of life and the current political and social upheavals we all face with a desire to run and hide from it all. Lead singer Tom Cunningham describes the track: ‘Wild Love is a song about leaving everything behind and running away with someone. It’s a song about finding a new place away from all the trouble and pain. We all kind of want to run away even if we don’t know where we are running.’ Of the band’s name singer Tom says ‘Its from a Nick Lowe penned song, which Elvis Costello had a hit with called ‘What’s So Funny About Peace Love and Understanding’ that has the lyrics, “So where are the strong And who are the trusted? And where is the harmony? Sweet harmony.’

2018 was a busy one for The Trusted, jam-packed with festival slots and hot n’ sweaty shows all over London, which includes The Notting Hill Arts Club, The Camden Assembly, The 02 Islington headlining shows at the Dublin Castle and closer to home with busy shows in Southend. The end of the year the band were on a massive high with a well-received mini-tour of Northern Italy courtesy of the Brexhip crew, The Trusted were immediately invited back to play shows in Venice, Padua and Bologna in June this year, where they went down a storm with the locals once again.
