Musician, actor and multidisciplinary artist Theo Ogundipe today announces his debut EP In Transit will be out November 5th. The lead single from the forthcoming EP, ‘I.T’ is out now. Pre-save the EP here. Listen to ‘I.T’ here.

‘I.T’ is an uncompromising first look into the upcoming EP. Theo leads the way with crisp flows and impactful punchlines, as the instrumental rises and falls with the themes he explores. Delving into his dreams and experiences against a backdrop of hard-hitting drums and emotionally-resonant melodies, ‘I.T’ showcases an artist unafraid to explore their vulnerability.

Speaking on the single, Theo says: “The title track of the project is a declaration of intent. It serves as an introduction to me as a musical artist, and my mission – a memoir of everything that came before this debut, and a vow of all I promise to deliver with everything I create from here on.”

Theo’s upcoming EP In Transit is the culmination of his life experience thus far. Impressively, Theo produced the whole EP himself, after teaching himself the skills needed to actualise his vision. Completely open-hearted, it delves into his goals, wins, losses, joy, and pain, allowing his audience to truly understand who he is. As an actor, Theo is used to embodying a character. With his music, he removes all barriers, and only speaks on what is true to him.

Blending rap with soul and electronic influences, Theo discusses his life against the backdrop of the society he’s in. Born in Nigeria and raised in the UK, his experience as a black man is central to the project, whilst his outlook brings room for reflection on a societal level. An afrofuturistic kaleidoscope of sounds and bars, In Transit reaffirms who Theo is and where he was at when writing it. Drawing comparisons to Kojey Radical, J Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Sampha and D’Angelo, In Transit is a bold statement of intent, signifying everything still to come from Theo Ogundipe.

Outside of music, Theo is known widely for his work as an actor. His role as ‘Ruben’ in Top Boy brought him to a wider audience, with further roles in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, Pompeii: Out Of Time, Mickey 17, and theatre productions with the Royal Shakespeare Company, The Old Vic, and more, all highlighting his place as a multifaceted, multi-disciplinary artist. He plays Cinna in The Hunger Games: On Stage at the Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre, opening this Autumn.
