Following the acclaimed release of Put On A Record Tommy EP earlier this year, Tom A. Smith is extending the doors of Tommy’s Dance Place with a brand-new single, the anthemic “Am I Ever Gonna Be A Rockstar?” which has been released with an extended version of fan favourite “Put On A Record Tommy” and a cover of Talking Heads (Life During Wartime). All three tracks arrive alongside the announcement of the deluxe edition of Put On A Record Tommy EP, due for release on September 9th via Fiction Records.

Tom also today announces an extensive UK headline tour in November and December, on sale this Friday at 10AM. Ticket info HERE. Full run-down of dates below.

Rather than simply revisiting the EP, the deluxe edition expands its world, adding fresh perspective to one of the year’s most exciting breakthrough releases. New single “Am I Ever Gonna Be A Rockstar?” sees Tom turning the spotlight inward, confronting the expectations, comparisons and self-doubt that often accompany a rapidly rising career, while never losing sight of the joy that first inspired him to make music.

Alongside the new single comes an extended version of “Put On A Record Tommy”, allowing listeners to dive even deeper into the euphoric, theatrical universe Tom introduced on the original EP.

The original EP marked another huge step forward for the 22-year-old songwriter, balancing infectious indie hooks with deeply personal songwriting. Tracks including “SFX”, “Our Song”, “The Only One” and “Put On A Record Tommy” showcased an artist refusing to stand still creatively, blending indie rock, dancefloor energy and emotional honesty into a sound that feels unmistakably his own.

That fearless creative evolution has quickly become Tom’s defining quality. Whether producing his own records or continually pushing his songwriting into unexpected territory, he has established himself as one of the UK’s most exciting young artists; someone determined to follow inspiration rather than expectation.

The release of the deluxe edition arrives alongside a continued packed run of festival appearances and a headline tour in November and December, ensuring Tommy’s Dance Place remains open well into autumn and beyond.
