Tom Lumley and The Brave Liaison, are about to drop their new 4 track EP on the 24th April.

They are without a doubt one of the most explosive up and coming bands around, Tom Lumley & The Brave Liaison have been skyrocketing to astronomical heights ever since they jumped onto the scene in 2017. Going into 2020 at full pelt and off the back of their 2019 release ‘Casual,’ they’ve announced a whole host of tour dates and an EP. First single ‘Shrink’ was released with a music video on the 3rd April, followed by the remainder of the package on the 24th April. The ‘Sign Of The Times’ EP era is in full swing.

The Cambridge 4-piece are fronted by Tom Lumley, a naturally gifted songwriter alongside Jake Day, who know their way around a hook and deliver some of the most addictive, arena-sized vocals and lyrics you’ll hear in a long time. They’re joined by the foundation-laying, powerhouse duo Billy Stewart and Jonny Thompson, who deliver every second of every song in a ferocious fashion. ‘Sign Of The Times’ comprises of four tracks – 2019’s hit ‘Casual,’ upcoming single ‘Shrink,’ ‘New York Paranoia’ and ‘Let Go.’ A combination of real-talk indie triumphs that showcase the band in their most exciting light to date. Featuring anthemic, big-room moments from start to finish, Tom Lumley & The Brave Liaison are fuelled by emotive talking points, beefy guitar work and downright likeability from the get-go. On the EPs deeper meaning, they added:

“Each song on this EP centres around the mental health issues that many of us face on a day to day basis. By writing and releasing this body of work, we hope to strengthen the ideology in people’s minds that it’s okay to talk about what they’re going through. Social media can put copious amounts of pressure on people, as we chase an impossible ideal of someone else’s highlight reel. The breakdown of relationships that come from us spending too much time glued to our phones and not enough time connecting on a human, personal level are regrettably the signs of our times.”

It’s no secret that the band are winning over the ears and hearts of some of the biggest names in the business too. Huw Stephens tipped them on his BBC Radio 1 show as ‘Ones To Watch in 2020’ and so far they’re living up to the hype. On top of that Radio X’s John Kennedy has ben giving them plenty of spins, while they’re also often supported by BBC Introducing and This Feeling, who made ‘Casual’ their track of the week.

Flexing their studio muscle is one thing but delivering it flawlessly on a stage is another. After supporting Sam Fender and The Hunna, not to mention having a session at Maida Vale and playing at the last Secret Garden Party and festivals such as Isle Of Wight, Tramlines, Bestival, Camden Rocks, Truck and many more, they’re consistently proving their worth on the live circuit. In fact, they’re heading out on the road to celebrate their new EP release: dates to be arranged.

With a perfectly apt EP title, Tom Lumley & The Brave Liaison are a sign of the times – guitar music is very much alive and kicking – make sure you get involved.
