‘Up County Down’ Double A side Van Morrison

Van Morrison today releases a double A-side single featuring two very different songs: ‘Up County Down’ and ‘Where Have All The Rebels Gone?’

Van Morrison’s new double-album  ‘Latest Record Project: Volume 1’ went straight into the charts at #5, making it the 16th Top 10 solo album of his extraordinary career. It was released to widespread critical acclaim, with the consensus being that his one in a million, straight-to-the-heart baritone is as exemplary as ever. The album was previewed by the lead single, ‘Only A Song’, which was named Record of the Week at Radio 2 and added straight to playlists at Jazz FM and Radio 2.

The album is set for another surge of discovery as Van Morrison today releases a double A-side single featuring two very different songs: ‘Up County Down’ and ‘Where Have All The Rebels Gone?’ Listen HERE. Watch the lyric videos HERE.

‘Up County Down’ is one of the most joyful moments on the record. The uplifting country-soul groove finds Van Morrison’s golden voice reflecting on his travels and concluding that music feels the same regardless of whether he’s in Texas, California or back home in County Down. It also has a throwback reference to 1966, when The Doors opened for his band Them at the Whisky A Go Go on Sunset Boulevard.

Like ‘Up County Down’, ‘Where Have All The Rebels Gone?’ also highlights Van Morrison’s ability to lead a band who can play with precision, personality, feeling and versatility. The barroom rock ‘n’ roller is the platform for his straight-talking commentary on modern life in which he bemoans the lack of real independent thought.

Van Morrison followed the release of ‘Latest Record Project: Volume 1’ by playing his first virtual show from Real World Studios. He debuted numerous songs from the album alongside some classic tracks. Please visit www.vanmorrison.com for the latest updates and ticket details for future live performances.
