Previously released single ‘If We Don’t Know Each Other’ offers an introduction to the world of the EP, with its playful take on the uncertainty of letting someone in. Elsewhere, new tracks, ‘What It Would Be Like’ turns its attention to the lingering questions that can follow an almost-relationship, while ‘I Don’t Have You At All Now’ explores the unfamiliar feeling of life after someone has left it. Together, the tracks offer a glimpse into the different sides of ‘Should I Block Him?’, from the flirtation and overthinking to the more tender moments that sit underneath it all.
Over the past few months, these 3 songs have had such a strong presence and purpose in my life. I’m really excited for people to finally hear them and hopefully see a bit of themselves in them too.’
‘Should I Block Him?’ arrives as YAZ continues to build momentum as one of pop’s most exciting new voices.
Since breaking through with her debut single ‘Mr Valentine’ in 2022, YAZ has gone on to amass millions of streams, earn early support from titles including CLASH, The Guardian and i-D, and grow a dedicated following across her social platforms. Across two EPs, ‘Wish You Were Here’ and ‘Dancing in My Room’, she has continued to sharpen a sound that pairs bold pop songwriting with an unfiltered take on modern life and relationships.
This EP marks another step forward for YAZ. Combining her witty sense of humour with a more vulnerable side to her songwriting, the record offers a fresh glimpse into what’s next for the Camden-born artist.
