The first track to be released from the upcoming album TIM is a sleek and modern song, built on Aloe Blacc’s soaring voice and brightly layered pop production from Tim Bergling, Albin Nedler and Kristoffer Fogelmark.
“With ‘The Craft’ we wanted to explore the unconscious oddities of everyday life and how an outsider alien (Austin’s character) may interpret these trivial actions. “
It may have been four years since he last flew solo but Alfie Boe certainly made up for it with these fans at the Bridgewater Hall.
“As much as the songs, it was the stories and characters that we loved. Playing boogie-woogie piano in murky clubs sounds pretty tame now, but back then, it was raw and dangerous. We wanted to capture that with a dirtier, grittier, sexier sound.”

“‘Free To Air’ is about an old neighbour whose life seemed to play out entirely in his lounge room in front of the TV, which he blasted day and night. My bedroom faced looking into his lounge room, so it was almost like we were waking up and watching the morning news together or having a TV dinner after work..”
