Andreya Triana has today released her brand new single, ‘Freedom’. The track is taken from her upcoming album, ‘Life in Colour’, which is released 24 May 2019 through Hi-Tea Records/The Orchard. The upbeat and instantly catchy track, which features Andreya’s rich vocals and powerful lyrics about female empowerment, is the third to be taken from her new album. It follows the singles ‘WOMAN’, recently by acclaimed electro pop duo Nimmo, and ‘Broke’, a soulful track about growing up with her mother.

Andreya says about the new single: “‘Freedom’ is a song about feeling strong and liberated within yourself. For me, that came from learning from the older generation – taking wisdom from my grandmother, learning from my Mum’s triumph and mistakes. Taking all of this wisdom and information and utilising it to enable me to become the best woman I can be. To live my life freely and truthfully.

“‘Freedom’ was the first song that Dimitri Tikovoi and I wrote together and was the decider that he should produce most of my album. Dee Adam was amazing in helping me shape the lyric into what the song was to become. I love this song and I hope it uplifts anyone that hears it!”

Recorded in London and Stockholm, the upcoming album is inspired by womanhood and comprises a wide-range of musical influences – soul, blues, pop, reggae and jazz. Available to pre-order now, it comes in digital, CD and coloured vinyl formats. Andreya’s third record follows her critically-acclaimed 2010 debut ‘Lost Where I Belong’, which was produced by Bonobo, and her sophomore record ‘Giants’, which came out in 2015.

Andreya will perform a must-see set at EartH in Hackney on 17 September where she will play music from her new album as well as tracks from her back catalogue. Tickets for the show are on sale now via gigsandtours.com. Andreya will also perform at this year’s Cheltenham Jazz Festival on 3 May.
