English Singer-songwriter Olly Murs will play York Museum Gardens on Friday 9th July 2027 as the first announced headliner of next year’s Live at York Museum Gardens concert series. The botanical gardens of the historical city’s much loved landmark are set to host more unforgettable performances from musical legends and rising stars than ever before as the series extends to run across two weekends for the very first time.
Now a household name and familiar face, Olly Murs rose to fame in 2009 after participating in The X Factor. Since then, Murs has released eight studio albums of his distinct blend of pop, indie, ska and disco; achieved numerous number one singles including ‘Heart Skips a Beat’ and ‘Troublemaker’ and returned to television screens across the country as a presenter on The X Factor in 2015 and as a coach on The Voice UK.
Olly’s latest full-length release, last November’s Knees Up, finds the larger than life frontman returning to the high-energy, upbeat ska-pop of his roots with hits like ‘Bonkers’ and ‘Save Me’ bound to bring the party to York Museum Gardens next summer.

Returning for a fourth season, this summer’s Live at York Museum Gardens series saw incredible sold-out performances from the likes of Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, Self Esteem and Super Furry Animals as well as exceptional standup from comedy headliners Russell Howard, Ross Noble and Joanne McNally and many more as part of sister event York Comedy Festival.
Founded in the 1830s and sitting in the heart of the city, York Museum Gardens are over 10 acres of picturesque botanic gardens set against the backdrop of the ruins of St Mary’s Abbey and home to the Yorkshire Museum. Today, the gardens welcome around 1.3 million visitors a year as a space to relax and enjoy.
From bringing musical legends and stand up stars to York along with providing an incredible platform for rising regional talent; the event’s independent promoters, Leeds based Futuresound Group and York Museums Trust are excited to reveal this newly extended collaboration and deliver two weekends of amazing outdoor summer concerts.
