The Puppini Sisters are heading out on tour. Released on April 17th 2020, Dance, Dance, Dance, the brand new album from The Puppini Sisters combines the world’s leading close-harmony group with classy sound of The Pasadena Roof Orchestra.  Along with a list of strictly swing dance style song arrangements and you have the perfect dance album that fans of both artists, and fans of swing dancing, have been waiting for!

With five albums under their waist-cinching belts this new album from The Puppini Sisters is produced by group founder Marcella Puppini: “We live very much in the present, and consider ourselves as 21st Century women, totally absorbed in a world of modern technology and women’s rights. But we also like to play dress up and sing old songs with a new spin or new songs with an old spin. I think our enduring popularity (as well as our enduring love for what we do) is a combination of two factors: swing is infectious and cool, with its intricate syncopated rhythms and with its echoes of fabulous dance parties; and harmony singing, in my opinion, resonates deeply with everybody – it’s as if it speaks directly to the soul.”

The Puppini Sisters released their first album ‘Betcha Bottom Dollar’ in 2006, produced by the Oscar nominated Charest – the album was labelled the fastest selling jazz album of all time when it hit No. 1 in the UK Jazz Charts and subsequently went gold.  Selling albums & touring across the world, they quickly became musical pioneers of the neo burlesque/swing scene in the early noughties and continue to this day as mainstays of the underground performance art scene.  They count HRH Prince Charles, The Manhattan Transfer, Michael Bublé and Hugh Laurie amongst their many fans from around the world. It’s extraordinary how many others have followed their trailblazing lead, but none come close to these true originals.

The Pasadena Roof Orchestra, led by Duncan Galloway, are the world’s premier band when it comes to authentic dance band/early swing music.  Formed in 1969 they have actually lasted longer than some of the dance bands originally playing music from this golden era.  The PRO has recorded over 40 albums, toured the world and has provided music for films, such as the Comedian Harmonists (1997) and the soundtrack for Just a Gigolo (1980) with David Bowie and Marlene Dietrich (her last film).

To coincide with the album’s release The Puppini Sisters will be touring the UK from April 16th and will not only be featuring songs from this new album, but they’ll be singing many of the songs that are fan favourites from their back catalogue.  A night not to be missed!
