ABOUT TURNAROUND DANCE THEATRE

In 2013 sisters Ellen, Grace and Lily Turner co-founded TurnAround Dance Theatre (TADT.) Our artistic aim is to create work that touches, moves and inspires audiences whilst also pushing artistic boundaries for the observer and performer.

From dancing together since children, the trio have a close and unique bond that helps make their professional work incredibly touching and special. In 2013, their first work ‘Trudy’ premiered at Contact Theatre Manchester and they were later awarded a commission by Serendipity from which their second work ‘LoveLife’ was created. These works draw upon the performer’s personal experience thus creating raw and honest movement.

In 2015 TADT recieved their first Grants for the Arts funding through Arts Council England for their third work ‘Mirrored Minds’.  Developed from a scientific inspiration this was a creative movement exploration of the brains neural activity whilst observing dance.

Their most recent work The Thief, the Fox and the Phoenix received rave reviews, and was the companies first outdoor aerial and dance family friendly show. The work received Arts Council England funding during 2016 and 2017, and has been touring throughout 2018 and 2019 to festivals including Highest Point Festival, B Love in Basingstoke and IncludFEST. We are very excited for our upcoming 2019 tour please check our website and social media for performance announcements.
