“Dad dancing” aside Jim Kerr has one of the finest voices you will ever hear on a live www. It’s the best part of 25 years since I last saw this band and honestly the whole show was as faultless tonight as it was back then. 2 sets taking us through the finest moments of this well loved band that came to fame in the 1980’s after starting out as a Glaswegian punk outfit.

Set one gave us some of the greatest “fans” type hits, the highlight without a doubt being the glorious “Belfast Child” … Jim Kerr delivering a haunting vocal that left not a dry eye in the house. Other big hitters in this set were “Promised You a Miracle” and another personal favourite “I Travel”

Set two brought us the famous number ones, highlights coming in the form of the thunderous “Waterfront” .. Charlie Burchill hitting those harmonics perfectly on his guitar and a fabulous rendition of “Don’t’ You (Forget about Me)”. Credit should also go to the new drummer Cherisse Osei .. the best drummer they have ever had .. quite possibly ..

Overall this was a fantastic show, lighting and sound some of the best you will ever witness and a band who just continually deliver at the highest level.
