After his biggest run of headline shows across the UK earlier this year and ten massive shows supporting Louis Tomlison in Europe, rising star Alex Spencer is back with his new single ‘These Will Be The Days.’ The track is the title track to Alex’s forthcoming EP, which arrives July 17th. Listen to ‘These Will Be The Days’ HERE.
A track cemented in friendship, growing up and moments quickly becoming memories, ‘There Will Be The Days’ is a euphoric indie-pop anthem made for festival mainstages. “The track is about nostalgia and that bittersweet realisation that the moments we’re living right now will one day become cherished memories,” Alex says of the single. “It took me 19 years to truly understand that. This is a really special song to me — lyrically, it’s my favourite I’ve written. It’s about having to learn to let go of what was, and start appreciating what is. Because these really are the days.”
Fast becoming one of the UK’s most exciting young voices in indie music and with a sold-out run of UK headline dates and European support shows with Louis Tomlison already ticked off this year, as well as a support slot opening for The Black Keys at Alexandra Palace Park under his belt, Alex is set for another busy year on the road.
Alex Spencer’s street-savvy lyricism is undeniable with his song writing capability proving far beyond his 19 years of age. While his roots are embedded in the culture of his hometown, a large portion of his childhood was spent living in India and Thailand, which has had a profound impact on his creativity and ambitious perspective. At the age of ten, Alex picked up the guitar, inspired by his father’s playing, and hasn’t let go of it since. Self-taught and masterfully skilled, he has spent years perfecting his craft.
