Alice D today releases her brand new EP ‘Into The Light’The rising London artist’s previous singles, ‘Nervous’ and ‘Passion’, have seen Alice highlighted by Wonderland, The Voice, FAULT, Noctis, the Sunday Mirror and more, while also picking up airplay as a BBC Introducing Spotlight Artist.

Bookended by two mood-setting instrumentals, the EP feels like a journey of discovery in which Alice has learned more about herself every step of the way. The EP’s halfway highlight, ‘Protect My Light’, unifies nostalgic R&B and lilting island rhythms as Alice explores the need to eliminate toxic friendships from her life to keep her own energy pure. Personal development and empowerment is also a part of ‘Bittersweet’, which focuses upon the future possibilities that come with the pain of the end of a relationship. The EP was co-written between Alice and her regular collaborator Tim Blok, who also produced 7 out of the 8 tracks.

Alice says, “One of the overall themes on the EP is finding power and strength, and being authentically, unapologetically yourself. It’s about stepping into your truth. I feel like during the course of all this I’ve gone from being what I now see as a nervous young girl, to the point where I’m comfortable enough to experiment and go beyond my safe zone. Sure, I still doubt myself from time to time, but I feel more confident than ever. I feel like I’ve stepped into myself. I’ve stepped into my own light.”

One of the EP’s key new songs is ‘Warrior’, produced by Julian Simmons, which Alice bills as a song for all women — including those warriors throughout history, and the strong women in Alice’s own life.  Listen HERE.

Last year Alice D released her 3rd EP ‘Where The Wildflowers Grow’, which earned early support at BBC Introducing. From there she dug deeper into her crate-digging vinyl obsession and her personal experiences to give her music a wider, multi-genre edge as well as an intrinsic, relatable truth to her lyrics.
