Channelling a slick, dance-pop vibe, ‘Run Into Trouble’ combines Dan’s instantly-recognisable vocals with smooth synths and an infectious slap house bassline. The release is fresh off the back of Bastille’s recent album Give Me The Future, which charted at #1 in the UK, while Alok recently performed a sold out show at London’s illustrious Ministry of Sound.

“I’ve been a fan of Bastille’s music since the very beginning and to be able to work with Dan and the boys on ‘Run Into Trouble’ was such a fun experience!” Alok explains. “We wanted to create something that represented both of our styles but still leaning into each other’s sound and pushing the track a little deeper. Dan really set the vocals alight and we hope you all enjoy what we created!”

Speaking about the collaboration Bastille says: “We’re massive fans of crying-on-the-dancefloor sad bangers and had such a good time bringing this one to life with ALOK. We love the euphoria that he’s brought to it and can’t wait to play this tune live over the summer.”

Alok and Dan Smith also have a shared interest in climate action, with Dan recently writing the score for forthcoming film Devil’s Breath, directed by Oscar-winner Orlando Van Einsidel, and Alok performing at the Global Citizen concert.

Alok broke global streaming records in 2020 with the debut of his penthouse floor show that racked in over 60 million views across various platforms and  hit #1 on global trending Twitter during the stream. Heentered the Billboard ‘Top 50’ on socials at #35, alongside Rihanna and Adele, and most importantly he raised awareness about the coronavirus issue in his home country and collected food and supplies for more than 20,000 families in Brazil.
With three UK #1 albums under their belt, Brit Award-winners Bastille are one of the most renowned bands on the planet, having also been nominated for two Grammys and two American Music Awards. Dan Smith is no stranger to dance music, having previously collaborated with Marshmello on global smash hit record ‘Happier’, which amassed over 9 billion streams to date.
A cross-genre collaboration between global stars, ‘Run Into Trouble’ throws up truly dazzling results.
