After earning a big reaction to her previous single ‘Believer’, the Grammy-winning ALYA now shares its equally stirring follow-up ‘Dreaming’. The two songs present different chapters of ALYA’s own experiences. While ‘Believer’ celebrated finding love just as you had thought it was impossible, ‘Dreaming’ takes us back to ALYA’s childhood, when she would think ahead to what such a life-affirming love might feel like.
‘Dreaming’ pulsates with a serene beauty that feels like a beachside escape, with ALYA’s stylish vocals surrounded by celestial harmonies and a chilled-out groove that’s as laidback as it is addictive. Its lyrics possess a youthful innocence, but also express the playful giddiness of being lost in the moment as a blossoming relationship begins to feel like something much more.
‘Dreaming’ emerges as ALYA puts the final touches on her upcoming album, which is set for release early next year. She adds, “This song and the forthcoming album all came so effortlessly in terms of writing because most of it came from the diary of my mind.”
Born and raised in Eastern Europe and now a long-term Los Angeles resident, ALYA’s musicianship comes from a varied array of influences. She’s naturally drawn to the music she grew up around, Slavic folk, but particularly admires the towering voices of Adele, Amy Winehouse and Celine Dion, while also adventurously exploring all manner of modern elements from amapiano to alt-pop. Her career has included collabs with big names and acclaimed talents such as Eric Clapton, D Smoke, Erica Campbell, Dr. Chaii, Indiara Sfair and White Sun, her work with the latter leading to a Grammy Award win. Her upcoming album is set to secure her status as an artist who excels at storytelling, cinematic, multifaceted pop.
