Babyshambles have announced a major outdoor show at Dreamland Margate this summer, marking one of the band’s most high-profile UK dates since returning to the stage after an 11-year hiatus.
Presented by Strap Originals in association with RG Live, the show takes place on Sunday 30 August 2026, bringing the band’s widely celebrated live comeback to the Kent coast following a run of sold-out dates across the country. With demand already high, the Margate show offers a rare chance to see Babyshambles in a large-scale outdoor setting with a twist.
Frontman Peter Doherty said: “We are only doing one show in our beautiful and pleasant Albion this year and where better than Margate. A beano is guaranteed for all . Kiss me quick – sun, sea, sand on a Bank holiday weekend….does it get any better?….no. “
Set within the grounds of Dreamland, the show places live music inside one of Britain’s most recognisable seaside amusement parks. With its historic rides, open spaces and coastal backdrop, Dreamland offers a setting that goes beyond a traditional concert venue – combining live performance with the atmosphere of a classic British day out.
Joining Babyshambles is a carefully assembled line-up that reflects both the band’s roots and the current UK alternative scene. Big Special arrive as one of the most talked-about new acts in the country. The punk driven hip hop infused duo blend spoken-word, punk and soul influences into politically charged performances that have earned widespread acclaim and a rapidly growing audience.
Also on the bill are Warmduscher, known for their genre-blurring sound that pulls from post-punk, electronic music and funk, alongside a reputation for unpredictable and high-energy live shows. Their releases have built a strong following across UK and international alternative scenes.
Rising Birmingham outfit GANS bring a sharp-edged, guitar-driven sound shaped by noise, post-punk and DIY influences, continuing to gain traction through live shows and grassroots support. Completing the line-up are Pregoblin, whose leftfield mix of electronic, punk and performance art has made them one of the more distinctive acts emerging from the UK underground.
The Margate show arrives at a key moment in Babyshambles’ story. Formed by Doherty in the early 2000s following his departure from The Libertines, the band quickly established themselves as one of the defining acts of the era. Their debut album Down in Albion (2005) and follow-up Shotter’s Nation (2007) produced a string of influential tracks including Fuck Forever, Delivery and Albion, helping shape the sound and spirit of British indie in the mid-2000s.
Known for their raw, unpredictable live performances and Doherty’s singular songwriting voice, Babyshambles built a dedicated following that has endured well beyond their initial run. Their return to the stage after more than a decade has been met with strong demand, with recent shows selling out and reaffirming the band’s lasting appeal.
Now, with momentum building once again, the Dreamland Margate date stands as one of the standout opportunities to see Babyshambles live in 2026 – combining their return with a location that adds a distinct sense of occasion.
