Beck has unveiled a stunning new video of the first ever live performance of “Ride Lonesome,” that opens his album of the same name.
Performed May 7th of this year at the Sydney Opera House, the live debut of “Ride Lonesome” finds Beck accompanied by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and live band mainstays Jason Falkner (on bass and vocals), Roger Joseph Manning Jr. (on piano and vocals) and James McAllister (drums). Buoyed by an otherworldly orchestral arrangement provided by Beck and his father David Campbell, and featuring conductor Nicholas Buc, “Ride Lonesome” with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra is nothing short of a revelation — one that brings new dimensions to the new classic Beck ballad NPR proclaimed “as moving and beautifully produced as any of his most beloved work.”
The audio track was mixed by Tom Gelissen and mastered by Paul Hicks.
In other news, Beck has been confirmed as support for the launch of U2’s The Greatest Show on Earth World Tour 2027. Sharing a stage with the band for the first time since his stint on the 2017 Joshua Tree stadium tour, Beck will be featured on U2 shows in Mexico City, Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires running from late February to late March. Finally, Beck is currently in the midst of the Ride Lonesome tour, which has been making its way across North America, receiving uniformly warm welcomes to nightly assortments of material from the new album alongside hits and deep cuts from classic albums Morning Phase, Sea Change, Mutations, and more.
