London-based singer-songwriter CHARLS, announces her seminal anthemic debut album, ‘Heartbreak Looks Good On Me’. Due for release on October 1st via The Orchard, the announcement today marks a huge milestone in her career and journey as an artist. The album is available to pre-order here.

Ending 2025 with vulnerable, soulful track ‘Heads Up’ and kicking off 2026 with single, ‘Trust My Gut’, an ambitiously intimate release, a string of powerful songs have followed throughout the year including the anthemic ‘Begging On My Birthday’ and the heartfelt ‘Out In The Open’. Traversing the stages of a tender heart and the reclamation of self-love, the music echoes her artistic growth by exploring the frustration of feeling overlooked alongside an anthemic sense of personal empowerment.

The album announcement arrives alongside another single following this trajectory; “Paranoid Heart” was written by CHARLS alongside singer-songwriter Sarah Close as they both bonded on the same shared experience of betrayal in love and the need to express their bottled rage. The result is an anthemic call to arms, CHARLS’ beautiful voice sounding powerful in its new found strength and resilience. Listen to ‘Paranoid Heart’ here.

“‘Heartbreak Looks Good on Me’ has been the silver lining throughout what has been an extremely turbulent chapter of my life,” says CHARLS. “It’s repeatedly picked me up off the floor. It was written in realtime as I healed from heartbreak. The music was the friend I needed to help me piece myself back together again and I really hope it can be that for other people too. My favourite thing about it all is that I made it with my best mate, in the basement of a carpet shop in North London. I couldn’t ever have hoped for or predicted the circumstances that inspired it… but it’s the album I’ve always dreamt of making. Raw, honest, real. I’m so excited to share it. Here’s to not giving up on your dreams and to leaving behind people who don’t treat you right.”

Following a joyous intimate performance at KOKO, CHARLS is set to play London’s Lower Third (Up) on November 4th. Tickets go on general sale on Friday 11th September at 10 AM BST
