Douglas Dare and Manu Delago share a touching rendition of ‘Wherever You Are’, a track taken from Douglas’ third album, Milkteeth released back in February via Erased Tapes. The duet premiered at Sea Change’s first online festival this weekend – watch it hereMilkteeth is available to purchase here.

The pair first collaborated in 2017 on Manu Delago’s album Metromonk with a track they co-wrote called ‘Abrupt’, recorded remotely due to them both touring at the time. They had yet to perform it live together, so when Manu got in touch with Douglas earlier wanting to record a duet of one or two of the songs on Milkteeth, it seemed like it would finally happen. But then the lockdown happened and once again, they had to record remotely and perform separately. Their version of ‘Wherever You Are’ is both soothing and therapeutic, bringing a sense of calm despite the pressures of being in isolation. Douglas’ echoing vocals pair beautifully with the mesmerising tones of Manu Delago’s handpans and together with its self-made video, the duet serves as a poignant reminder for what can still be achieved creatively despite the current challenges we all face.

Douglas also performed pieces from his latest acclaimed album Milkteeth via La Blogoteque’s new ‘Stay Away’ series via Instagram last night. Yesterday’s performance follows the announcement of Douglas’ new UK tour dates which have now been rescheduled for September this year. Full dates at can be found at douglasdare.com

Milkteeth — produced by founding member of Tunng and one half of LUMP with Laura Marling Mike Lindsay — is out now. Recorded in Margate in just twelve days, Milkteeth sees Douglas become confident and comfortable enough with his own identity to reflect on both the joys and pains of youth. In doing so, he has established himself as a serious 21st century singer-songwriter with an enduring lyrical poise and elegant minimalist sound.
