Alternative pop visionary Gia Ford has released her new single ‘Loveshot’ via Chrysalis Records. Recorded in LA at the renowned Sound City Studios with legendary producer Tony Berg (Phoebe Bridgers), ‘Loveshot’ bursts in with a sexy strut of funk guitar riffs, rippling synths and confident swagger. The track received its first airplay from BBC 6 Music’s Chris Hawkins this morning as his ‘Track of Dawn’, following his support for previous single ‘Poolside’.

Listen to ‘Loveshot’ here.

The song began as a visual of myriad characters bustling up and down a busy street. There’s an old man handing out flowers, overlooked by commuters, a preacher completely defined by religion and a young girl forced to grow up too fast, trying to navigate the world around her. Gia explains: “‘Loveshot’ looks at the human race and the stories we create, and asks how we could focus on love more than we do now.”

‘Loveshot’ is the latest in a succession of singles from Gia’s upcoming as-yet-untitled debut album, which demonstrate how she is able to craft songs like no other artist of her generation.

Gia has been busy on the road supporting Marika Hackman on her UK and European tour which concludes tonight in Paris. This summer Gia will bring her alluring stage presence to festivals across the UK, kicking off with Brighton’s The Great Escape Festival following her spotlight as one of their First Fifty, as well as appearances at Get Together, Latitude, Green Man Festival, Rock N Roll Circus and more to be announced.

With her timeless sound and ability to convey raw emotion through her haunting lyrics and vocals, and exciting live shows in the pipeline, Gia Ford is on course for a meteoric rise in 2024.
