Heather Small, is one of the defining voices of this century. Her distinctive vocals and uplifting club/ pop classics have dominated the airwaves for decades, with a stream of chart topping hits that include ‘Moving On Up’, ‘One Night In Heaven’ and the powerful ‘Search for A Hero’, a popular anthem adopted for times of National pride and a call for  inner strength.

Heather grew up in West London during the 1970’s, despite being a shy young girl, she knew that she wanted to make something of herself. Devout in her faith, she called on her own resources to forge an enviable career as a pioneering woman of her generation.

Becoming one of the seminal British voices of the 1990s as Part of M People, she amassed over 20 top 40 hits in the UK, half of which reached top 10 from their albums ‘Elegant Slumming’, ‘Bizarre Fruit’ and ‘Fresco’. Achieving massive worldwide success, the band won Best British Dance Act at the Brits in 1994 and 1995, as well as the Mercury Music Prize for their debut album.

Heather has since had great successes with two solo albums – the title track of her ‘Proud’ album has gone on to become the soundtrack to a whole host of very special events including London’s successful 2012 Olympic bid, the 60th anniversary of VE Day in Trafalgar Square, the launch of Queen Mary 2, the Tsunami Relief Concert, England’s victory at the Rugby World Cup celebrations, and the official ceremony marking the handover of the Olympic Games from Beijing to London.

In 2008, Heather embarked on a journey that would see her dance her way into the public’s affection as she became a contestant in Series 6 of the BBC’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. She’s collaborated on recordings and live shows with Anastacia and Lulu and is well known for her charitable work, having recently been made an ambassador for the children’s charity Barnardo’s, continually involved with fundraising and helping lend her valuable support to projects around the country.

Heather’s infectious personality and her trademark sense of humour have earned her appearances on a number of TV news and chat shows including Oprah Winfrey, Paul O’Grady, Alan Titchmarsh, GMTV, BBC Breakfast, The Wright Stuff, Newsnight, as well as special appearances on The Weakest Link and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

When Heather sings, the euphoria is palpable.  In Heather’s own words

“When you  feel the way I do, when I sing.. you would know why I do it”
